Thank you for participating in the 2016 ATS Assembly Challenge!
The ATS Foundation would like to thank all ATS assemblies for their outreach efforts and generosity during the 2016 ATS Assembly Challenge. This was the closest Assembly Challenge yet!
- Most dollars raised: Respiratory Cell & Molecular Biology with $94,718
- Highest member participation: Nursing with 20.49%
- Most first-time donors in Dec.: Allergy Immunology & Inflammation with 7 new donors in Dec. alone
Many members made gifts supporting the Research Program and other core programs in the final days of 2016. Gifts both large and small were received—and much appreciated.
There was tremendous energy around the challenge this year, with assembly chairs crafting special messages geared specifically to their assemblies. Most assembly chairs sent two or more personal emails to their members during the challenge.
Your outreach and generosity provided a big boost to Foundation year-end giving campaigns—and a boost to our upcoming grant-making capacity for talented investigators.
Congratulations to the Respiratory Cell & Molecular Biology, Nursing, and Allergy Immunology & Inflammation assemblies! They will receive special recognition in ATS communications, at ATS 2017 Washington, DC, and within their own assemblies.
Thank you again to all of the ATS assemblies for your enthusiastic support!
Truly, your energy, creativity, and participation this year were outstanding. Thank you for everything that you do for the ATS, the Foundation, young investigators, patients, and respiratory health worldwide.
The Assembly Challenge taps into the grassroots community of the ATS assemblies in support of the ATS Foundation Funds for the Future Campaign. The Challenge launched on November 29, #GivingTuesday, an international day dedicated to giving, and continued through Dec. 31, 2016.
The Foundation created this toolkit to help members make the Assembly Challenge a success for their assembly. Assemblies were encouraged to make #GivingTuesday (Tue., Nov. 29, 2016) a focal point of their assembly activities. Then, continue the spirit of giving throughout the end of the year. Bonus Tools!
There were three ways to win the 2016 Assembly Challenge:
- Be the assembly with the most dollars raised in 2016 for the Funds for the Future Campaign
- Be the assembly with the highest member participation rate in 2016 for the Funds for the Future Campaign
- Be the assembly with most first-time donors Nov. 29-Dec. 31, 2016
Gifts support core ATS mission-related programs including Research Program, MECOR, Medical Education Research, Ziskind Clinical Research Scholar Award, and Assembly Awards and Scholarships. Giving is credited based on a member’s primary assembly.
No matter which programs most inspire you, all gifts to the Foundation count toward the Assembly Challenge.
The ATS supports the ATS Foundation’s administrative expenses, assuring that every dollar contributed goes directly to support programs.
