Charitable Gift Annuity

The purpose of a charitable gift annuity is two-fold: 

1. to make a gift to charity for which the contributor receives a partial tax deduction, and
2. to receive a guaranteed yearly payment (annuity) for the rest of the beneficiary’s live(s).  Two beneficiaries can be named.

Currently, charitable gift annuities offer rates of return that are highly competitive in this downturned stock market for individuals who are 65 years of age and older.  Combined with the tax-deductible aspect, many people find a charitable gift annuity very advantageous.
